We received horrible news that Leo passed away unexpectedly today. Our hearts ache for his family. Leo was such a fun loving spirit and was always ready and willing to help a friend out.
That a drummer of Leo’s caliber was willing to play on our demo was an incredible encouragement to us and his enthusiasm for the project helped us focus our efforts.
We spent hours at his home in Orland, CA rehearsing three songs - over and over again - until we could play them perfectly in preparation for our first recording session. We only stopped to eat pizza or BBQ’ed chicken (which Leo usually burned!).
We recorded Fire Flower, Closer, and Bleeding Spirits with Leo, but ultimately decided not to use the latter (I think we felt rushed to finish the basic tracks) for our demo cassette. His playing was so rock solid, we saw no reason to re-record his tracks for our EP.
Rest in peace, brother. You will be missed.
